I have been honored to serve on the HACSPA Board representing Laketown Township for 11 years. I became interested in the pool when our two girls, Anna and Elle, were taking swim lessons as part of the Holland Public School learn to swim program. They fell in love with the sport of swimming so much that they never stopped and today are both swimming in D1 programs at Purdue and North Carolina State.
I became involved in the governance of the pool in 2008 when there was an opening for a Laketown Township representative. I applied for the position and was approved based on my business experience, passion for our community and desire for all kids to learn to swim. Serving on the HACSPA Board has been one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences of my career. I’m grateful to our community for the support it has given us and continues to give in the mission to life saving programs for all ages. This is an exciting time with anticipation of a new renovated and expanded facility that will open up more opportunities for everyone to enjoy.
