On Dec 10, the City of Holland Planning Commission approved HCAC’s revised site plans for the renovation and expansion project. HCAC and our construction partners developed the new site plan to include updates in response to feedback from our neighbors and the planning commission. The revisions included:
- Adding a separate drop-off lane at the front entrance
- Aligning the east and west entrances with 23rd Street
- Updates to the receiving entrance off of 22nd Street
- Additional landscaping to minimize the impact of vehicle headlights on neighbors
What’s Next
As with any large construction project, it will take some time before completion, and HCAC is committed to reducing the impact on its users. Site work will begin in Spring 2020 as designs are finalized. We’ll begin first by building the expansion for community access and then turning toward renovation of the existing facility. The whole process will likely last well into 2022.
